Our Beginning

It all started with a vision in 2019. James Ford, fueled by a passion for change, dreamed of creating a behavioral health organization that would challenge the status quo. His goal was simple but impactful—to build something different, something people and communities could truly rely on to overcome hardship and thrive. By 2020, that dream started to become a reality. Sunny Tabler joined the mission, bringing energy, determination, and a shared vision to the table, and Helping 2 Overcome Systems finally began to take shape.

From the very beginning, our focus wasn’t just on behavioral health—it was about treating people as individuals, valuing their unique journeys, and tailoring our services to meet their needs. We set out to help underserved neighborhoods and accompany individuals on their journeys to overcome challenges. For us, Helping 2 Overcome (H2O) was always meant to be a beacon of hope and compassion.

Milestones That Shaped Our Journey

Every year since our founding has brought incredible challenges and opportunities, but each milestone has helped carve our path into what Helping 2 Overcome Systems is today.

• 2019 – Launching in Cleveland: With determination and passion, we planted our roots in Cleveland, focusing on supporting communities that had been overlooked and underserved.

• 2020 – Adapting During the Pandemic: The COVID-19 pandemic changed everything. Yet, it taught us to adapt and find innovative ways to serve our community. During this time, we shifted focus toward education, ensuring our services remained impactful when families and schools needed us the most.

• 2022 – Tremendous Growth in Education Programs: This year marked significant expansion as we grew our school-based programs and launched successful after-school groups aimed at giving students the resources and support they needed to flourish.

• 2023 – Partnering with Open Tones: We built a life-changing partnership with Open Tones, connecting youth with music and empowering them through creative outlets.

• 2024 – Scaling Up Across Ohio: We’ve grown beyond what we could have imagined. Our programs now operate throughout Northeast and Northwest Ohio, reaching more than 200 clients.

 

Today and Beyond

Currently operating across Northeast and Northwest Ohio, we’re proud to be helping hundreds of adults and children build stronger, healthier futures. But this is only the beginning. With every program we run, every partnership we form, and every life we touch, we commit to pushing for a better tomorrow for everyone in the communities we serve.
